Potassium lignosulfonate biocide amine is a combination of potassium lignosulfonate and amine-based biocide that is used as a shale stabilizer, fluid loss reducer, lubricant, and antimicrobial agent in water-based drilling fluids.
It forms a protective layer on the shale surfaces and prevents their dispersion and swelling. It also inhibits the growth of sulfate-reducing bacteria and aerobic bacteria that can cause biofilm and corrosion.
